Quintiles and GlaxoSmithKline Win Noted Award for
Outstanding Partnership with Clinical Research Sites

2009 Site Solutions Summit Eagle Award Presented at
National Clinical Research Conference

Ellicott City, MD, October 20, 2009 - The Site Solutions Summit, co-hosted by RxTrials Inc and the Association of Clinical Research Organizations (ACRO), names Quintiles Transnational Corporation and GlaxoSmithKline the recipients of the 2009 Inaugural Site Solutions Summit Eagle Award.  The Eagle Award was presented to both companies at the Site Solutions Summit Eagle Award Dinner on Saturday, October 17, 2009, during the 4th Annual Site Solutions Summit at the Sandpearl Resort in Clearwater Beach, Florida. The award honors the recipients for their outstanding leadership, professionalism, integrity, passion and dedication to advancing the clinical research profession through strong site partnerships.

The annual Site Solutions Summit brings together clinical research professionals; executives from leading Sponsors, clinical research organizations, and stakeholders from clinical research sites. These professionals discuss the challenges in managing clinical research studies, sites and industry trends. Through the site's collective voice and in partnership with industry leaders best site business practices are identified.

During the Summit the prestigious Site Solutions Summit Eagle Award was presented to the Sponsor and clinical research organization that best exemplifies the characteristics and symbols of an eagle: strength, grace, purpose, keen vision, courage, power, dignity, bravery, and precision.

"Representing the world's leading CROs, I am very pleased that an ACRO member company has won the Inaugural Eagle Awards for the CRO industry. Like our other members, Quintiles is committed to the kind of quality research that is conducted at outstanding sites," said Doug Peddicord, PhD, Executive Director of ACRO. "The standards of excellence held by Quintiles, GSK, and the other Site Summit attendees represent the very best of the research enterprise."

Nominees for the award were selected from the Sponsors and CROs that demonstrated their commitment to the site relationship by their attendance at the 4th Annual Site Solutions Summit.  Site attendees pre-identified characteristics that best illustrated a strong business partnership in the areas of operations, professionalism, finance, regulatory and overall project management. Site attendees voted prior to the meeting via a validated survey.

Adam Chasse, Head of Global Prime Sites, Quintiles says, "We recognize that quality research cannot be done in a timely manner without strong collaboration with sites, so Quintiles is honored to have received this award because it validates the significant efforts we've made to develop closer relationships with sites."

The recipients were presented their Eagle Awards by Christine Pierre, President and CEO of RxTrials Inc. and founder of the Site Solutions Summit.

"The Site Solutions Summit is proud to be the voice of sites and for recognizing the Sponsor and CRO that best exemplifies the characteristics of a strong site partnership," said Christine Pierre, President and CEO of RxTrials Inc. "The commitment of partnerships among all stakeholders in the clinical research enterprise is essential, for it is the collaborative work we conduct that ultimately provides the medical advancements and discoveries of tomorrow."
